Welcome to the Gwent District Association or DA, by comparison to other DA’s within the Cambrian and Wyvern Region of the Camping and Caravanning Club, Gwent DA is quite small. The DA, which was formed in 1978, nestles just inside the Welsh border and has some of the most beautiful countryside in the whole of Wales.

Focusing on the introduction of longer meets in 2015, we have again produced a sites list for 2017 which includes mostly four night meets, most with EHU availability and three temporary holiday sites in places of natural beauty and close to places of interest.  We would like to thank Club members for your continued support which enables us to offer longer meets.

Come and join us at one of our meets, whether a long weekend rally or just for a weekend or at our three Holiday meets (THS), you are assured of a warm welcome.  We look forward to welcoming new and old friends again.

Interested in history?
There are castles at Newport, Abergavenny, Monmouth, Caldicot, Raglan and Skenfrith.  An abbey at Tintern,  plus cathedrals in Newport and Usk. Also close by are the attractions of Big Pit at Blaenavon and the Welsh Folk Museum at St Fagan’s, in Cardiff.

More of an activity enthusiast?
The Wye Valley has some wonderful walks, Offa’s Dyke is on our doorstep, there are mountains to climb around Abergavenny plus numerous water activities on the River Wye from sailing, canoeing to river cruising. The Brecon Beacons national park also spills over into our area.

Further information about Gwent DA or any of our meets, contact our Secretary, Jean or Sites organiser, Sue.  You can also follow us on Facebook.

  1. Many thanks for allowing us to join you for your birthday meet. Although you are a small group, your friendship and cameraderie was greatly appreciated. Sue and Clive stewarded excellantly and provided us with many tips and local information. We thought the location was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend in your company. Best wishes, Richard and Joan (Tamar d.a)
